Vikings go up a few spots in Touchdown Wire power rankings

Minnesota, after two consecutive losses, pulled off an upset win in Week 10. The Vikings defeated the Chargers to notch their record to 4-5.

Our friends at Touchdown Wire took notice. Nick Wojton, who writes for the aforementioned outlet in addition to Bills Wire, tabbed the Vikings as the 20th best team in the league. That’s a four-spot improvement from the previous week.

Wojton wrote:

“Speaking of bad wins, the Vikings had a good one this week, topping the Chargers, 27-20. The Vikes got bold and kept the Bolts’ offense off the field late thanks to RB Dalvin Cook, after QB Kirk Cousins’ two touchdowns led the way. WR Justin Jefferson shined as well.

What keeps Minnesota such a curious team is their combined loss total. In five defeats, the Vikings have lost by a combined 18 points.”

As Wojton pointed out, Minnesota has been deadlocked with opposing teams for much of 2021. This week, QB Kirk Cousins helped the team pull away. Cousins attacked the Chargers offense with passes downfield. He finished with 294 passing yards and two touchdowns. If he keeps having more games like that one, the Vikings should keep moving up NFL power rankings.
