Vikings gave WR Jeff Badet bonus to keep him from signing with Jets

Jeff Badet has never played in an NFL game, but the former Oklahoma wide receiver is intriguing teams.

Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reported over the weekend that the Vikings gave Badet a $75,000 bonus in addition to his $495,000 base salary to keep him from signing with the New York Jets this offseason.

Badet caught 26 passes for 400 yards and three touchdowns in 2017 as a senior at Oklahoma, catching passes from Baker Mayfield.

We don’t know much about him other than the fact that the Vikings think highly enough of him to offer him a solid bonus to keep him from leaving the Vikings. Could he be in the mix for the team’s third wide receiver spot? Something to keep an eye on.
