Vikings DT Jalyn Holmes leaves Saturday’s practice with leg injury

The Viking are a bit thin already at the defensive tackle spot with Shamar Stephen starting camp on the non-football injury list.

On Saturday, defensive tackle Jalyn Holmes left practice with an apparent leg injury, although it doesn’t appear to be too serious.

Holmes was a 2018 fourth-round pick for the Vikings out of Ohio State. He appeared in five games last season.

Even with Stephen back on the team, the Vikings will likely look for others to step up to fill Sheldon Richardson’s void.

Holmes is in competition with Jaleel Johnson, Hercules Mata’afa and Armon Watts to fill that role.
