Vikings draft S Brandon Jones in 1st-round of too early mock draft

Our guy Luke Easterling put together a way-too-early 2020 NFL mock draft (considering the regular season hasn’t even started).

But regardless, do you know what we as NFL fans love?

MOCK DRAFTS!

In the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft with pick No. 22, Easterling has the Vikings taking Texas safety Brandon Jones.

Here’s what Easterling wrote about the pick:

Mike Zimmer loves adding dynamic playmakers on defense, and he could use another one on the back end to pair with Harrison Smith. Jones is a missile of a defender who is just as comfortable breakup up passes as he is getting his hands dirty in the box.

With early draft research, it’s probably worth taking a look at the position than the actual player. Do the Vikings need a safety? A lot of that will depend on how Anthony Harris plays alongside Smith. Harris had a solid 2018 season, but we’ll see if that was just a fluke.

In the second round of the draft, Easterling has the Vikings taking TCU cornernback Jeff Gladney.
