Vikings DE Danielle Hunter ranks 37th in PFF player rankings

The 2019 season was a successful one for Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter.

For the second-straight season, he finished with 14.5 sacks. He also became the youngest player in league history to hit the 50-sack mark for his career.

In Pro Football Focus’ end-of-season player rankings, Hunter ranked 37th.

Here’s what PFF wrote about him:

It seemed like Danielle Hunter would spend his NFL career being a good-but-not-great edge defender, albeit one who was slightly overrated because of his age and sack totals, but this season he finally became the player that his potential said he should become. He posted the best overall PFF grade of his career by almost 10 grading points and had 30 more total pressures (including the playoffs) than his previous career-high.

Hunter finished the season with a PFF grade of 89, a mark that ranked ninth among all edge rushers in the NFL.

To think that Hunter is just 25 years old and only getting better is a scary thing for the rest of the league.
