Vikings DE Danielle Hunter continues to sack quarterbacks

Last week, Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter set the NFL record for most sacks by a player yet to turn 25 years old.

He added to that total in Sunday’s game against the Lions, sacking Matthew Stafford. For his career, Hunter now has 47 sacks. Hunter doesn’t turn 25 until Oct. 29, so he’ll have one more game (Thursday night against the Redskins) to add onto his total.

For the 2019 season, Hunter has seven sacks in seven games, a mark that ranks tied for fourth in the NFL. Hunter’s nine tackles for loss ranks first in the league.

Per Pro Football Focus, Hunter has a player grade of 84.6, a mark that ranks 10th of 105 graded players. It’s also a career-high for Hunter by more than five points.

The Redskins have allowed 2.6 sacks per game this season, a mark that ranks 19th in the NFL. We’ll see if Hunter can help that number go up a bit.
