A little more than a week after signing guard Tiano Pupungatoa, the Vikings have waived him to sign another guard, Tyler Catalina.
Catalina last played in the NFL in 2017 with the Redskins, playing in seven games while starting two.
The former Georgia Bulldog was with the Redskisn last season, but was on the IR all season due to a shoulder injury. The Redskins waived him on July 31, so the Vikings acted quickly to bring him in. Clearly a sign that they wanted him.
We’ll see if Catalina, 26, can make a good enough impression over the next month or so to land a spot on Minnesota’s roster.
