Vikings CB Mackensie Alexander leaves Week 1 with dislocated elbow, will get MRI Monday

There were a lot of positives from the Vikings’ 28-13 win over the Falcons on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

A negative was the fact that they lost star slot cornerback Mackensie Alexander to an elbow injury in the second quarter. Alexander did not return to the game and will get an MRI on Monday, per Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.

The Vikings don’t need any more hits to their secondary. They’re already without Mike Hughes (ACL) and Holton Hill (suspsension).

After two disappointing seasons in the league, Alexander emerged as one of the best slot corners in the league in 2018. He’s currently in the final year of his rookie contract.

We’ll update you accordingly on his status.
