Vikings CB Holton Hill takes responsibility for suspension

As an undrafted rookie in 2018, Vikings cornerback Holton Hill turned some heads.

As he enters the 2019 season, Hill will have to wait a month to officially take the field. He was suspended for the first four games after testing positive for performing-enhancing substances.

Hill has taken full responsibility for his actions and realizes he has to do research on what supplements he’s taking.

“I’m just learning from my mistakes, knowing what you put into your body,” Hill said via Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. “I’m responsible for everything that goes into it. I’m taking it as a learning experience, and I’m just growing from there.”

It’s a big financial hit for Hill, too. Tomasson notes that Hill will lose $134,118 of his $570,00 salary.

The Vikings are hoping Hill can help take some pressure off Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes upon his return.

Pro Football Focus graded Hill as the league’s 40th-best cornerback last season.
