Vikings C Garrett Bradbury looked up to Derek Jeter growing up

We all have those athletes growing up that we admire for one reason or another.

For Vikings center Garrett Bradbury, as a Yankees fan growing up in Charlotte, it was Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

“He was the GOAT (greatest of all time) at his position, and he was such a leader on that team and they won a lot of games with him, so it was fun to follow him as a young kid,” Bradbury said via the Pioneer Press.

Bradbury actually credits a lot of his success in football to baseball. He orginally started playing shortstop, but later moved to catcher. He said that helped his leadership skills, which transferred to the offensive line.

Here we are and Bradbury is a professional athlete himself, and likely the Day 1 starter for the Vikings at center.

We’ll see if he can be a leader for an offensive line unit that certainly needs it.
