Vikings are 1st team with over 100 rushing yards against Eagles

After beating the Eagles 38-20 on Sunday afternoon, the Vikings passing game is getting a lot of credit. Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs went off, but the rushing game was also impressive against a very good Eagles defense.

Before Sunday’s game, the Eagles were only allowing 63 rushing yards per game. The Vikings nearly doubled that, rushing for a team total of 122 yards against the best run-stopping defense in the NFL.

Although the majority of the big plays happened through the air, the Vikings continued to stay balanced throughout the game. Dalvin Cook was held to under 50 rushing yards, but rookie Alexander Mattison had yet another strong performance averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

If the Vikings can continue to throw the ball as well as it has in the last two weeks, it will open up holes for one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL, and vice versa.

With the last two weeks being dominated by the Vikings offense, it’s starting to seem as if  offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski and offensive advisor Gary Kubiak have found their identity.

The Vikings get to 4-2 and will travel to The Motor City next weekend for a divisional matchup against the Lions.
