Vikings and fullback C.J. Ham agree to two-year extension

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a two-year extension with fullback C.J. Ham, according to his representation, the Institute For Athletes.

Ham was due a $2.95 million base salary this season and would’ve had a $3.8 million cap hit, according to Over The Cap. While the details of his extension have yet to be released, this move will likely clear cap space for the Vikings.

Since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Ham has been a key contributor to the Vikings, bringing versatility and leadership to the locker room while contributing to the offense and special teams units.

Last season, in his first year with new head coach Kevin O’Connell, Ham wasn’t used as much as in years past. As the offseason has progressed, the Vikings have shown with their signings that they are committed to the run for the 2023 season.
