A long-time nemesis of the Green Bay Packers is departing the NFC North.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Minnesota Vikings agreed to trade receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills for a treasure chest of draft picks, including a first-round pick in 2020.
The draft capital coming to Minnesota is impressive, but Diggs leaving the division has to be considered a big win for the Packers, who allowed at least one touchdown pass to Diggs in seven straight games to end his Vikings tenure.
A fifth-round pick in 2015, Diggs used his terrific route-running ability and vertical receiving skils to catch 46 passes for 656 yards and eight touchdowns over nine career games against the Packers.
Now, Diggs is heading to Buffalo to play with Josh Allen and the Bills, who only venture into the NFC North once every four years.
The Vikings now hold picks No. 22 and 25 in the first round. With Diggs now in Buffalo, the Vikings will likely be in the market for a receiver, a need position for the Packers and one they could target early in the draft.
