Renowned Indian Chef and writer Vikas Khanna recently shared the news of his debut novel on social media. Titled 'Imaginary Rain', the novel is written in honour of his Biji (grandmother in Punjabi), Khanna had shared.
“A story I started writing to honor my Biji (Grand Ma) after winning the Michelin Star for the first time in 2011,” he said in an Instagram post.
Interestingly, a feature film based on the book will also be released later this year starring Shabana Azmi, he further shared.
'Imaginary Rain' is MasterChef India-fame, Vikas Khanna’s 40th book. With this book, Khanna has turned to fiction bringing out the story of an immigrant named Prerna, who is in her fifties and on the brink of mid-life crisis.
"Prerna, a woman now in her fifties, has been running an Indian restaurant in downtown Manhattan for two decades. She is on the cusp of a midlife crisis and her life starts to unravel when she suddenly loses her son, her lease, and with these, her passion for cooking. Published by Penguin India, 'Imaginary Rain' by Vikas Khanna will be released on January 16, 2023.
