Vijayawada: A fire broke out in a private college following a short circuit on Bandar road near Benz circle here on Monday evening. Around 500 students were in the college at the time of the mishap. The college staff immediately evacuated the building to avoid any untoward incident. On receipt of information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire. A major accident was thwarted with a timely response.
