Actor Vijay, last seen playing a corporate monster in AR Murugadoss’s Sarkar, is all set to essay the role of a coach in his next outing with director Atlee. On Tuesday, it was announced that the satellite rights of the highly anticipated project have been snapped by market leader Sun TV.

Sun TV wrote on Twitter, “@SunTV buys the satellite rights of #Thalapathy63 #Thalapathy63WithSunTV.”

Soon after the announcement, reports emerged that the film was bought for a whopping Rs. 52 crore, making it the biggest amount spent on a film’s TV rights in Tamil industry.

The film, currently dubbed as Thalapathy 63, is being produced by AGS Entertainment. Vijay reportedly plays a character called Michael in the film and has been trained by a special physical trainer to get into the skin of the role.

There are also reports that Vijay plays the coach of a women’s team and sixteen women will star as sports players in the film, which also stars Kathir, Yogi Babu and Vivek in crucial roles.

The film has music by A R Rahman, who had recently confirmed in an interview that he hasn’t worked on this genre in south India.

“I have done this genre in Hollywood but this would be the first time in south India. Atlee is a fan of my films like Lagaan and Pele. He’s heard these soundtracks and he is musically very passionate. I enjoy working with such director who gets involved in music composing,” Rahman said in an interview to a popular entertainment portal.
