Viewers were very distracted by this woman nodding her head behind Donald Trump

Viewers of Donald Trump's NBC town hall debate were increasingly distracted by a woman nodding her head behind the President.

The female audience member appeared to be nodding in agreement with things the President was saying, and occasionally shaking her head when he said something negative.

In another weird moment during the event, Trump was told he has a "lovely smile" by a different audience member.

Before asking her question, Paulette Dale, who said her grandparents were from Russia and Poland, said: "I must say you have a lovely smile. You're very handsome when you smile."

Quite apart from the weird audience, the President's answers were often eye-popping.

He repeatedly said the figure of $400,000,000 was a "very small amount of money."

He admitted he "probably" owed money to foreign entities, but denied any of them were in Russia.

The President said he couldn't remember whether he had taken a Covid test before sharing a stage with Joe Biden at the last TV debate, two days before he announced he had coronavirus.

He said: "I don’t know, I don’t even remember... The doctors do it, I don't ask them."

Pressed on the matter, he said: "I probably did. Possibly I did, possibly I didn't."

But he would not say when his last negative test was, prior to his diagnosis and hospitalisation with the virus.

And he refused to disavow QAnon, a bizarre conspiracy theory which suggests he is single handedly saving the world from a satanic cult of child sex offenders operating at the heart of government.

He first said he didn't know anything about them, then in a moment that is likely to draw comparisons with his telling the far right Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by", he said he knew QAnon was: "very much against paedophilia, fight it very hard."

And through it all, the lady at the back...just....kept...nodding.
