Viewers were loving the documentary ‘When Michael Met Davy' on RTE

RTE viewers were left very moved by documentary ‘When Michael Met Davy’.

The one-hour special followed Late Late Toy Show star Michael O’Brien giving a pre-match talk to the Wexford GAA team under the eye of Davy Fitzgerald.

11-year-old Michael captured the hearts of the nation when he appeared on the Toy Show last November.

The GAA mad youngster appeared on the show to review braille books and was blown away when Davy came out to meet him.

But the surprises were far from over as Davy appointed Michael to help him with his pre-match motivational talk to the Wexford team ahead of their match against Tipperary earlier this year.

The documentary followed Michael's journey to preparing his speech, as well as delivering it to the team.

He told them: "I've one message for you today and that's dream big. Little did I think I'd be here today standing in front of a county team.

"There are two things you've got to do - work and believe.

"We all know the hurlers who can talk a good game, but actions speak louder than words.

"Change your story, and believe that change.

"Now get out there today and show Tipperary what Wexford hurling is.

"Dream big, dream big!"

Davy was ecstatic with his speech, and everyone was thrilled to see Wexford to go to win their match.

Viewers absolutely loved Michael’s speech and took to Twitter to praise him.

One person tweeted: "What an absolute inspirational chap this young Michael is. One of a kind."

Another said: "Watching When Michael Met Davy (Fitzgerald) on RTE. Oh my what a funny and inspirational child. He doesn't let the fact he's visually impaired stop him from doing anything. Brilliant Michael, just brilliant."

Someone else said: "When Michael met Davy was one of the best things I've watched in years.

"Michael is a truly inspirational young fella and fair play to Davy Fitzgerald and RTÉ for making it all happen."
