Viewers shocked by Love Island twist as first couple leave the villa

Viewers of Love Island were left shocked on Tuesday evening when the episode ended on a cliff-hanger following a shock twist.

On Monday night, viewers were asked for the couple they thought were the most compatible in the villa.

Viewers were told that the couple with the least amount of votes would leave the island.

The first couples to be saved were Aaron and Kaz, who are in a friendship couple, Faye and Teddy, Liam and Millie and Liberty and Jake.

Three couples were left standing, Hugo and Sharon, Toby and Chloe and Lucinda and Brad.

However, a shock twist left viewers stunned, as the couple with the fewest votes were the ones made to choose who would be leaving the island.

It was revealed that Lucinda and Brad were voted the least compatible by viewers, and therefore were left with the decision to decide who leaves, Hugo and Sharon or Toby and Chloe.

The show was left on a cliff-hanger as the islanders looked at each other in shock.

People were angered by the producer's twist, with former winner Amber Gill leading the frustration. She said on Twitter: "So why ask us to vote?"

Another person noted: "If they really like each other, now is the moment to leave".
