In the new documentary, the first of a two-part series titled, Missing: Beyond The Vanishing Triangle, it is claimed that Annie was seen with a man in Poppie’s cafe in Enniskerry on the day she disappeared.

This bombshell revelation shed light on the case and her movements on the day of her disappearance, as the last confirmed sighting of Annie was captured on CCTV shortly before 11am at the AIB on Sandymount Road in South Dublin on the day she went missing.

Friends and family members also state in the documentary that Annie was assaulted by someone she knew weeks before she went missing.

However, the Gardaí involved in the original investigation told the programme the information was not brought to their attention at the time of her disappearance.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the “shocking revelations” shared during the documentary, one user posted: “The amount of important details the police seemed to have missed about Annie McCarrick is mental!”

Another added: “A woman who served Annie McCarrick and an unknown man in a cafe in Enniskerry notified the Gardaí but no Gardaí contacted her for a statement, the Gardaí contacted the woman’s family one year after the witness died.”

While one more posted: “Just so, so sad for Annie Mc Carrick’s family, so many leads not followed up on, such a mystery.”

One other Twitter user also posted: “Annie McCarrick, shocking revelations”.

The case remains open, with her family and Gardaí continuing to seek answers.
