Viewers outraged after Dublin Murders finale fails to answer many questions

*Warning spoiler alert*

Gritty crime drama Dublin Murders drew to a close this week as the grand finale aired on BBC One last night.

But viewers were left disgruntled after it failed to answer some of their most burning questions.

The eight-part series follows detectives Cassie Maddox (Sarah Greene) and Rob Reilly (Killian Scott) as they investigate the cases of who killed Katy Devlin and the mysterious case of Lexie Madison.

Based on the acclaimed Tana French Dubin Murder Squad novels, the series is set in Celtic Tiger Dublin in 2006.

It also flashes back to the 1980s where a similar case to Katy Devlin's took place involving three children - one of whom survived.

The show's complex storyline meant that many viewers struggled to keep up each week.

But after four weeks people eagerly tuned in hoping to at least find out what happened to Jamie and Peter in the woods all those years ago, only for their fate to remain a mystery.

Audiences took to social media to voice their frustration with the series.

"F*** this, I'm gonna have to go to them woods myself and find out what happened" one wrote.

Another wrote: "6 bloody weeks in and I can’t believe I’m still watching and rolling through tweets to see if anyone else gets it" .

A third person said: "Retired after 40 years hard work...but never ever worked as hard as I have these past weeks trying to follow Dublin Murders"
