Viewers loved Graham Norton and 'humble' Dermot Kennedy 'shouting' at one another on BBC show

Graham Norton and Dermot Kennedy made BBC viewers laugh on Friday night as they socially distanced by shouting across the studio at one another.

Dubliner Dermot was making an appearance on the Graham Norton show to perform his latest single 'Giants'.

After a great performance the Irish songwriter had a brief chat with host Graham Norton from a safe distance.

The Cork host said: "Traditionally, usually I would invite you over for a chat but we are at Covid capacity. So I'll just chat with you here."

The singer responded: "That's no problem, I won't inch over to you."

Graham continued: "Just pretend I'm an elderly relative and you are shouting through a window."

The pair then discussed the new single which is out November 6, Graham thinks, although the singer himself funnily said "don't ask me!".

The host concluded: "Thanks very much for a great performance and it's been lovely shouting with you."

And fans and those new to Dermot Kennedy praised his performance on social media.

One said: "Brilliant on Graham Norton tonight. But when isn't this man brilliant?"

Another said: "Just turned over to find Dermot Kennedy on the Graham Norton show. SO BLESSED. love him and this tune."

While another added: "Incredible performance and always so humble.. Love him."
