People from around the world have been glued to the TV screen today as the Queen's funeral is broadcast, but one man found himself the unexpected focus for many viewers who began posting relentlessly about him on social media. The man in question had dropped a white piece of paper and it landed right next to Her Majesty' s coffin and laid there throughout most of the service.
Shortly after it fell, social media users began posting about the piece of paper as one Twitter user joked dropping it would "haunt" whoever dropped it "for the rest of their lives". Eventually, it was moved away - but not before it was seen before billions of people, as the televised funeral is expected to be the most watched TV moment in history.

And another said: "When Netflix make the funeral episode will they replicate the paper drop?"
Then another posted: "The piece of dropped paper viewed by billions."
A fourth user tweeted: "Worst time to drop your piece of paper."
"Everyone just saw this guy drop a piece of paper right near the Queen's coffin, he must be mortified," added another user.

And another wrote: "Most interesting part of the queen's funeral so far is watching a bishop drop a piece of paper onto the floor, directly in frame of the camera."
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle paid tribute to the Queen with a simple gesture as she joined Prince Harry to say their final farewell.
The Duchess of Sussex, dressed in black, wore pearl earrings given to her by the Queen for the monarch's funeral today.
The Queen gave Meghan the pair of pearl earrings as a gift after her wedding to Harry in 2018.
Meghan paid tribute to the monarch, who was a fan of pearls, by wearing the elegant jewellery today.
The former Suits actress also donned the earrings during the Queen's coffin procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall on Wednesday.
The Duchess of Sussex previously told Oprah about receiving a "beautiful gift" from the Queen.
When the talk show host asked Meghan what the gift was, she replied: "She gave me some beautiful pearl earrings and a matching necklace."
