Viewers compared RTE's Claire Byrne Live to Art Attack after one major segment last night

Viewers were left baffled by some of the discussions as the latest episode of Claire Byrne Live tackled a number of issues last night.

Last week, the show was praised for its hard-hitting debate on the potential of a United Ireland.

This week, the major focus was on the coronavirus and the idea of lifting level five restrictions was discussed.

Claire used a number of props to illustrate ideas and services that we are currently restricted from using during lockdown.

She would then ask experts to give a prediction as to when we would be 'back to normal'.

We had two pints of Guinness, a hard hat, and a skeleton among other items.

''The prop department at RTE are in a league of their own!'' laughed one viewer.

''Becoming more clear each week that Claire Byrne just wants to host the late late toy show... the set... the props ... the skeleton'' said another.

In order to provide balance, the presenter also brought on hairdressers as well as Baz Ashmawy and Luke O'Neill to discuss the idea of lockdown fatigue ahead of the Government's announcement on Tuesday evening.

The tone of the programme would switch in the following segment as issues surrounding the safety of children online.

One concerned woman, who did not want to be identified, said that she had found her 11-year-old son on virtual chatroom Omegle.

She subsequently signed up to investigate what it was and was horrified by what she saw.

Viewers were full of praise for the segment.

''Any parents concerned with cyber safety, you should have a look at tonight's Claire Byrne Live back on RTE Player. Great segment on just how easy it is for undesirables to make contact with children, and how easy it is for them to be groomed''

The show finished off with a discussion between Claire and Luke O'Neill about the different variants of Covid we've seen in this country.

''This covid variant segment with Luke O'Neill has shades of Art Attack, Brainiac and the Toy Show!'' noted one fan.

''The skeleton represents all of us the next time a pub opens'' added another.
