View Taj Mahal on ‘chandni raat’ 4 times this month; dates, timings and ticket price inside

Yes you read that right! You can admire the beauty of the Taj Mahal in the moonlight four times this month! According to the official announcement, the white marble beauty will be open to admirers for night viewing during 'Sharad Purnima' for four nights in October.

Rajkumar Patel, superintending archaeologist, said, "As the Taj Mahal remains closed on Friday, tourists will be allowed to view the monument at night for four days, from Saturday to Tuesday.” As far as tickets are concerned, interested people can buy their tickets one day prior to the night viewing date from the counter at the ASI office.

This October, Sharad Purnima will be observed on the intervening night of 9th and 10th. This beautiful phenomenon is known as chamki. On this day, the epitome of love glows like diamond when moonlight hits the white marble from various angles. Simply stunning!

This is one such time when tourists from across the globe crowd the monument to experience this beauty. In 2021, the Taj Mahal was kept open for five nights around the full moon every month.

Things to remember:

1) Only 400 people will be allowed for the night viewing experience.

2) These people will be further divided into eight slots, ranging from 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
