View frontman Kyle Falconer sells prized guitar as he starts new life abroad

Scots rock star Kyle Falconer has revealed he is flogging one of his favourite guitars as he heads off to start a new life abroad.

The tousle-haired frontman of The View tweeted that he was selling his beloved 1967 Gretsch Country Gentlemen guitar that he played on stage with the band.

He said he was keen to see her go to a good home as he prepared to move overseas although he hasn't yet revealed where he plans to relocate to.

His tweet read: “Selling this 1967 Gretsch Country Gentlemen, in its original case, can be signed, played live with The View and solo also on Ropewalk and No Thank You albums.

“Had for 6 years, moving overseas so want her to go to a good home!!! PM for details”

Kyle and his band have a devoted following of indie rock fans.

Since bursting onto the music scene with The View’s debut album, ‘Hat’s Off to The Buskers’ in 2007, Kyle and The View have written and released five studio albums, a handful of EPs and smash hit singles including ‘Same Jeans’ and ‘Wasted Little DJs’.

More recently, he’s released his first solo album, ‘No, Thank You’ and his ‘Almost Pleasant’ EP dropped earlier this year.

He has been compared to the Gallagher brothers. Recently, he said: “I still get a bit of a judder when I see Liam or Noel Gallagher.

"We’re pals but it’s still weird talking to them. They’re just geniuses, the figureheads for an entire generation.”
