Police have arrested three Vietnamese nationals at an illegal cannabis cultivation warehouse in Bangkok, seizing more than 1,600 plants with an estimated value of nearly two million baht.
The arrests followed complaints from residents about a strong smell of cannabis coming from a warehouse in Bang Khun Thian district.
Officers carried out the raid on Wednesday.
The suspects were found inside the warehouse and admitted to growing cannabis on the premises.
Police seized 1,685 cannabis plants, each producing around 100 grammes of dried flower, with a total weight of about 168.5 kilogrammes. The haul was estimated to be worth 1.69 million baht, based on a market price of 10,000 baht per kg.
Police say the suspects had not obtained the required licences to grow or sell the controlled herb.
