Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, the current Miss Grand Vietman, has been crowned Miss Grand International 2021 at the pageant’s grand finale held in Bangkok on December 4.
Vietjet has accompanied and supported Miss Thuy Tien from the early stages of her journey, including her arrival in Miss Vietnam 2018’s Top 5 to becoming Miss Grand International 2021’s winner.
She has made history as the first Vietnamese woman crowned Miss Grand International (MGI), one of the Top 6 major beauty contests in the world, affirming Vietnamese beauty’s remark in the global beauty map and Vietjet’s constant efforts to introduce and promote Asian people and culture to the world.
Following her win, Miss Thuy Tien, 23, will stay in Thailand for one year to perform her duties as Miss Grand International and enjoy one year of complimentary flights across the carrier’s network, courtesy of its SkyBoss Premier service. Vietjet will also join Miss Grand International in several upcoming meaningful activities tackling community sustainability and environment protection in Thailand and Vietnam.
This year, the contestants of Miss Grand International 2021 also flew with Vietjet from Phuket to Bangkok and had exciting experiences with Vietjet's crew at an altitude of 10,000 metres. They also enjoyed meeting the former Miss Grand contestants, who are now Vietjet’s youthful and friendly flight attendants.
The newly-crowned Miss Grand International shared that she planned to fly back to Vietnam in time for the Lunar New Year celebrations early next year.
With an expansive network in Vietnam, Thailand and in the region, Vietjet looks forward to accompanying Miss Thuy Tien in her trip home in the future.
Besides Miss Grand International, Vietjet has accompanied a variety of other beauty pageant contests honouring modern women in Thailand, Vietnam, and the world. Many members of Vietjet's big family have participated in the pageant contests and been crowned Miss Grand in Thailand, including Miss Kantida Lungjareon - Miss Grand Phrae 2016, Top 10 Miss Grand Thailand 2016, Miss Nicharee Boonsiri - Miss Grand Thailand 2017, Miss Unchaya Petchamanee - Miss Grand Songkhla 2020 to name a few. They are all active members who participate in community-oriented and environmental protection activities in Vietjet family.
Thai Viejet’s flight attendant, Unchaya Petchamanee, a Miss Grand Songkhla 2020 and a Miss Grand Thailand 2020’s contestant, shared that she feels fortunate being a part of Miss Grand Thailand. “It makes me ready for every situation. I have gained a lot of skills from there. The most important thing is confidence, patience and problem-solving skills to be used as cabin crew. Finally, I am very proud to be a part of Thai Vietjets cabin crew”, said Miss Unchaya.
Chananchida Methapakdeesakul, Thai Vietjet cabin crew and a winner of Miss Grand shared “I always tell myself that “Hundred attempts are better than doing nothing”. If I fail this time, just learn more. Just standing up quickly whenever you fail is one of my tips for success. Work hard and never surrender, you can achieve it.” It is her self-discipline and hard work that paid off as she conquered the crown at Miss Grand Miss Grand Rayong 2020.
Miss Grand Phrae 2016, Kantida Lungjareon said that she feels proud as a Beauty Queen and Flight Attendant for Thai Vietjet, and would like to be an example for the new generation and inspire other girls to reach for their dreams. “I provide a heartfelt service throughout my job. I think, this is called “The Beauty Inside Out”, she added.
Nicharee Boonsiri won the Miss Grand Sakon Nakhon contest and then continued to represent Sakon Nakhon province by participating in Miss Grand Thailand 2017. After claiming the crown, Nicharee Boonsiri chose to continue her work as a flight attendant for Thai Vietjet. She revealed that she is very happy to do the work she is passionate about. For her, true beauty comes from the soul, expressed through every sincere smile. She is very grateful that Vietjet always cherishes that “beauty” and gives her the opportunity to deliver that gift to passengers on each flight.
