The filter makes the subject look as if they are crying their eyes out, no matter what facial expression they're pulling. It is quite convincing, and rugby stars have got in on the action. Liam Williams, Marcus Smith and James Haskell have all hopped onto the hysterical trend.
The videos capture players doing something quite ordinary, but it's made so much funnier with this simple effect. Liam Williams is recorded by his partner Sophie sitting on his sofa, and his confusion is outright hilarious.
