The State of Food Insecurity in the World, the final UN hunger report in the period of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), indicates that the MDG target to halve the share of undernourished people in the world has not quite been met.

Jomo Kwame Sundaram, FAO’s Assistant Director-General for Economic and Social Development, analyses the findings including their significance for new sustainable global development goals.
