VIDEO: You can relax, America. The “Boston Slam” isn’t going to happen.

After the Boston Red Sox took down the Dodgers in the 2018 World Series and the New England Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl earlier this year, there seemed to be a small possibility that Boston’s four major sports franchises could complete a historic championship sweep to complete the “Boston Slam.”

The Bruins, who last raised the Stanley Cup in 2011, took down the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets in the first two rounds of the NHL Playoffs, and will now face the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston is currently favored in Las Vegas to win the series and move on to the Stanley Cup.

Even if the Bruins go on to win a title, however, the Milwaukee Bucks seem prepared to squash any possibility of a Boston Slam.  The Bucks beat the Celtics by double-digits twice in TD Garden to take a 3-1 series lead, and Boston will now have to beat the best home team in the conference just to extend the series. Kyrie Irving may be a basketball genius, but the smart money is on Milwaukee to advance.
