Video: Yorgan De Castro lands one-hitter quitter on Justin Tafa at UFC 243

The bigger they come, the harder they fall.

Yorgan De Castro’s journey to the UFC took him from his homeland of Cape Verde to his adopted hometown of Fall River, Mass., and then out to Melbourne, Australia, where he made his UFC debut against Justin Tafa.

There, De Castro (6-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made a huge impact Saturday (Sunday locally) at UFC 243. In front of a crowd questionably tabbed at 57,000 by the UFC (which conveniently just so happens to be a smidge ahead of the record set by the promotion’s last stadium visit to Melbourne at UFC 193), De Castro knocked Brisbane, Australia’s Tafa cold with one shot.

Tafa (3-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was charging forward, only to run straight into a massive right to the jaw that ended the main-card opener at Marvel Stadium in 2 minutes, 10 seconds.

Watch this (via Twitter):

We suspect we’re going to see a lot more of this before De Castro’s time in the UFC is up. We also suspect he’ll head back home with an extra $50,000 to his name.
