A Russian woman accused of throwing a newborn into a trash can in the Khamovniki District of Moscow, has been charged with attempted murder, according to authorities.
The woman was found after CCTV video shows her walking to a bin and placing a bag inside. She then walks away.
It is unclear who called the police, but officers arrived soon afterward and found the baby wrapped in a jacket inside a plastic bag.
The baby, described as being a day old, was sent to a medical center, where she is reported to be in stable condition.
Yulia Ivanova, assistant head of the Moscow State Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, said the suspect has been stripped of any parental rights and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
