Video tour shows newly-refurbished Aldi store in Nottingham as it reopens to shoppers

A new video shows inside a Nottingham Aldi store which was closed while it underwent a refurbishment.

On Thursday, February 18, the branch in Daleside Road reopened to the public and looks like an entirely new shop inside.

The refurbishment has introduced wider aisles and modern, glass-fronted fridges and freezers, making the store much more comfortable to visit.

The supermarket giant says this has allowed for more space for fresh, chilled and food-to-go ranges as well as brighter and more spacious aisles.

More fresh items, such as fruit and veg, are now located within new fridges at the entrance of the store, while the meat is no longer located at the far end.

Toiletries have also been moved to the far left of the store, while products such as bread can now be found where the alcohol used to be, near the tills.

The store looks very much the same externally.

A spokesman said: "When we reopen on Thursday, February 18, the store will be in our new layout, which will be much brighter with wider aisles, while also ensuring more space for fresh, chilled and food-to-go ranges."

It is usually open from 8am until 10pm in the very busy East Point Retail Park which is also home to a Poundland, Costa Coffee and Smyth's toy store.

The shop has been closed since the beginning of the week, with fencing blocking any access while the work took place throughout the week.

The manager of the store, Stuart Levick, took Nottinghamshire Live for a look inside the store before it opened.

You can take a look around in the virtual tour in the video above.
