VIDEO: This Week's Top Stories

The biggest stories on Learning in the past week

The biggest story on Learning this week was the anti-government protests.

Police on Friday October 16 used water cannon against a large crowd of demonstrators at the Pathumwan intersection in central Bangkok.

Protestors gathered again at three sites in Bangkok on Saturday afternoon. The government ordered the shutdown of nearly all mass rail transit in the capital.

On Sunday, protests were held in about 20 locations outside Bangkok. Victory Monument and Asok intersection were the main sites in the capital.

Monday saw rallies at three sites in Bangkok as well as Nakhon Pathom, Buri Ram, Maha Sarakham, Songkhla, Ubon Ratchathani and Chiang Mai.

On Wednesday, protesters marched to Government House but were blocked by police.

Protestors had four demands: arrested protest leaders must be released; Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha must resign; the constitution should be amended and the monarchy reformed.
