A passenger on a flight bound for Cork Airport has shared footage of what looks like a close call between two planes over Irish airspace on Sunday.
Simon Murdoch was travelling on a flight from London Heathrow when he spotted the nearby jet.
He wrote on Twitter yesterday: "I was on flight from LHR to Cork yesterday, thought this was a tad close!?!"
However, while it may appear too close for comfort, commenters were quick to assure Simon that the occurrence is "perfectly normal".
An Air Traffic Controller added: "Have no fear. 1000ft or 5 nautical miles (laterally) is standard separation. Cool video though."

The Irish Aviation Authority's guidelines state planes at the same altitude must maintain a horizontal separation of at least five nautical miles, however under certain conditions a gap of three nautical miles is permitted.
Planes cannot come within 305m of each other vertically.
Two years ago two flights returning from Italy came very close to colliding over Dublin Airport.
Dramatic audio emerged of the pilots and air traffic controllers as they are alerted to the situation.
At one point the planes were 700 feet apart vertically and one mile apart laterally in the very busy Dublin air space.
