Video shows 'the extreme unicyclist' cycle 166 metres above water across narrow ledge of Romanian dam

In August 2014, Flaviu Cernescu – dubbed ‘the extreme unicyclist’, risked his life cycling across the narrow ledge of the Vidraru Dam in Romania.

The drop? A mere 166 metres.

Why? For a television show called World’s Most Talented that broadcasted in 2015.

The gripping footage shows the stunt from the perspective of Mr Cernescu, who sets off from the ledge at a fast pace, fully stretching his arms to establish a balance.

He rereleased the footage on his YouTube channel on 6 January; and judging from his responses to comments, he was not fazed by the challenge.

Tomáš Jeziorský commented, “Do you realize that you could die at every second? Just a wind suddenly blows a bit more or your wheel slips or... huh. But still admirable courage.”

Mr Cernescu coolly replied, “Well, it was not so bad :)”

He also described his feelings during the stunt: “I can't relate to it now. It was like a dream :)”

“Okay, it is like you are really focused on the environment and your senses are in overdrive. It is okay!”
