Video shows teenagers gathering for mass brawl in Dublin park

This is the moment dozens of teenagers gathered for a brawl in broad daylight in a popular north Dublin park.

The shocking incident took place on Saturday evening in Poppintree Park in Ballymun.

Up to a hundred kids can be seen scuffling in the park while shocked residents looked on in horror nearby.

It's understood the fracas broke out between a group of youths from Ballymun and another gang from neighbouring Finglas.

One horrified resident told Dublin Live the thugs were running through the park playing "catch and bash".

She said: "It's terrible, they were running up all of our stairs with weapons.

"Two police units and four police cars were chasing them.

"It was like catch and bash. It was horrible to watch and yet we were all too afraid to stop it as there were too many of them trampling on each other. Nowhere is safe anymore."

The huge gang was dispersed by gardai who arrived at the scene.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live there were no reports of any serious incidents and no arrests were made.

He said: "We have no reports of any serious incidents. A group of youths were dispersed by Gardaí on active patrol earlier in the afternoon. No arrests were made."
