Shocking footage shows a night of chaos as emergency services attended a number of incidents in a north Dublin area.
A man in his 30s was arrested after throwing an object and damaging the windscreen of a garda patrol van in Belcamp shortly after midnight.
He was arrested for Public Order offences.
Footage shows a large number of officers with shields storming the area following reports of disturbances involving a group of youths and illegal fires.
A garda spokesman said: "Shortly after midnight on Sunday 1/11/2020 a man in his 30s was arrested for Public Order offences after an object was thrown at and damaged the windscreen of a Garda Patrol van.
"Gardaí from the National Public Order Unit were on proactive patrol in the Belcamp area at the time responding to reports of disturbances involving a group of youths and illegal fires when the incident occurred. The man wan quickly arrested and no Garda members were injured."
It was a busy night for the firefighters from Kilbarrack Fire Station following reports of four cars set ablaze in Belcamp.
A spokesperson for DFB said on Twitter last night: "Firefighters from Kilbarrack fire station have been called to 4 cars alight in Belcamp. We're working closely with Gardaí at the scene."
