Video shows man held on ground in Finglas by Gardai as cocaine arrest made

A video circulating online shows one man being held on the ground by Gardai as officers made a cocaine arrest in north Dublin.

The clip, which is around a minute long, shows two officers trying to hold down one man on Barry Avenue in Finglas on Wednesday night.

A struggle ensues between Gardai and the arrested man who refuses to remain still with officers repeatedly telling him "put your hands behind your back now...move your other hand now".

Once the handcuffs are on the arrested man, the pair of Gardai tell him "stay down and don't move" while one of the Gardai keeps his hand on the man's back while he remains on the floor.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí seized approximately €120 worth of suspected cocaine, pending analysis, and arrested a man in his 40s after a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Barry Avenue, Finglas West on Wednesday, 21st July."
