Video shows man evade Garda arrest by climbing onto roof of house and refusing to come down

Gardai were left perplexed after a young man climbed onto the roof of a house and refused to get down as Gardai attempted to arrest him.

The bizarre incident took place on Saturday afternoon on Mourne Road in Drimnagh.

It's understood gardai were called to the scene of an incident in the area and attempted to arrest the man, Dublin Live reports.

The suspect managed to evade capture and climbed onto the roof of the house.

He is understood to have stayed on the roof for a number of hours.

In a video taken at the scene, someone can be heard urging him to get down from the roof.

The young man replies: "No I'm not getting down because I'm after getting arrested for f*****g nothing."

He then leans back against the chimney on the roof of the house.

The man is believed to have eventually climbed down from the roof and into a local park where he managed to run away from the gardai who had attempted to arrest him.

Gardai have been contacted for comment.
