A video shows one man being detained on the ground by Gardai as officers made an arrest in Dublin city earlier today.
The clip shows two officers attempting to hold down one man on O’Connell Street on Monday afternoon, August 2.
The struggle ensued between Gardai and the arrested man who refused to remain still.
The man also had blood on the right hand side of his face.
He attempted to fight off the gardai and shouted at them both before they put handcuffs on him.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: “Gardai arrested a male in his 30s for public order offences on O’Connell Street at approximately 2:50pm today, Monday 2 August 2021.
“He has since been charged and is due to appear before the CCJ on the 27th August.”
