Video shows large group chanting as they walk through city centre on eve of lockdown

This shocking footage shows a large group of people chanting in the street on the eve of a national lockdown.

The maskless group, who were not social distancing, were seen walking through Nottingham last night shouting football chants.

At 10pm last night pubs and restaurants had to close for the month-long national lockdown, which also sees other non-essential businesses shutting.

All non-essential travel is banned from today and people are not permitted to mix households in almost all circumstances under the lockdown.

Joe Corr, who took the video, said: "As we came out after having our last meal out at Alchemilla Restaurant on Lockdown Eve, we saw approximately 25 people walking from the direction of town at 10pm along Derby Road.

"They appeared to be all students. Just wondered if they would carry on the party elsewhere."

Before the lockdown came into place, Nottingham was still subject to Tier 3 rules, meaning that you cannot meet in more than groups of six outdoors.
