This is the moment children were filmed dicing with death as they hitched a ride from a lorry in Heywood .
A video clip shows two boys on bicycles gripping hold of the side of a truck as it travelled along Bolton Road and Rochdale Road East.
The youngsters, wearing hoodies, can be seen pedalling up to the HGV and holding onto its left side.
They continue to 'lorry surf' and then let go when the vehicle moves faster along the road.
One of the boys then turns around towards the camera and laughs while gesturing with his hands.
The incident took place on Tuesday at 5.30pm when Heywood was busy with rush hour traffic.
A shocked witness decided to film the stunt to highlight the danger the boys were putting themselves in.
The witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, later told the lorry driver what the children were up to but he responded to say there was not a lot he could do.
The incident has not been reported to police.
Another lorry surfing incident was recorded back in 2017 when youngsters were seen hopping onto the backs of trucks in the Oldham area.
