Video shows kid screaming 'I can't breathe' as Gardai arrest him on ground after major house party in Kildare

This is the moment a young teenager screams to Gardai that he "can't breathe" after being nicked following a massive house party in a quiet Kildare estate.

The youth repeatedly calls for the two officers to get off of him and claims that he cannot breathe as he is held on the ground.

The two Gardai do not appear to be impeding the young man's breathing, with one kneeling on his legs and the other placing her hand on his shoulder.

His left arm is pinned beneath him, but it is eventually brought behind his back after a struggle by one of the attending Garda members.

He shouts "I can't breathe" and urges the Garda member on his legs to "get the f**k off me you weirdo".

The two officers urge the young man to "relax" and "calm down" and to release his left arm, in which he appears to be holding his phone.

The video emerged after several teens were arrested as hundreds of youths wreaked havoc on a quiet estate in Leixlip yesterday evening.

The youths are understood to have been attending a house party in the Rinawade area when they spilled out on to the street at around 7pm.

Footage of the incident shows hoards of young people running up and down the street forcing traffic to come to a sudden halt to avoid hitting anyone.

The teens can also be seen congregating in large groups with no apparent regard for social distancing.

"Following reports of a disturbance at residence, Gardaí responded to call at a location in Leixlip, Co. Kildare at approximately 7:00pm on 6th July 2020," Gardai told Dublin Live.

"A number of youths were asked to leave the area.

"Three youths were arrested for public order offences and taken to Leixlip Garda Station.

"They will be processed under the Juvenile Diversion Programme."
