Video shows gardai thronging Kilmore after balaclava gang brutally attack man driving car

This is the footage showing gardai flooding a north Dublin area with patrol cars after a gang wearing balaclavas attacked a man in a car.

Dublin Live understands that the car he was driving was rammed into and smashed by the gang before they brutally assaulted him.

The incident took place at Kilbarron Avenue in Kilmore just before 9pm with the scene closed off for hours as investigations took place.

The victim of the attack, a man in his 30s, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.

A source told Dublin Live: "There was several people involved in the attack. They were all wearing balaclavas.

"It all happened so quickly and was over in a flash, most locals didn't know what was going on."

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an assault that took place in Kilmore yesterday 7 July 2021 at approximately 8.40pm.

"A number of men are alleged to have assaulted a man during the incident and damage was also caused to the vehicle that he had been driving.

"The man (30s) was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening."

He added: "No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing into the incident."
