Video shows fireworks shooting out of window of Nottingham flats

Footage shows fireworks being launched from the window of a Nottingham city centre flat on Bonfire Night.

An eyewitness who sent footage to Nottinghamshire Live said the fireworks were being shot from the Victoria Centre flats.

Due to the ongoing pandemic all public firework displays have been cancelled, but people are still allowed to set them off in their own home's garden.

The NHS has urged that Bonfire Night will be different this year, but "it's important to have fun responsibly".

The service wants people to avoid injury by following safety instructions provided if handling fireworks at home.

Emergency services have also urged people wanting to enjoy the to night take caution.

It comes as a dispersal order is in place in Newark town centre after a number of antisocial behaviour incidents overnight on Wednesday November 4.

Police received a report of antisocial behaviour outside Asda in Lombard Street at around 7.10pm, then fireworks were reportedly let off in the market place an hour later. There were also reports of groups of youths causing a nuisance to members of the public.

A 12-hour dispersal order has been authorised and came into effect at 3pm today (Thursday 5 November).
