Video shows Erling Haaland's Anfield joy as he names Liverpool "best team in world"

A clip from a documentary about RB Salzburg has demonstrated just how excited Norwegian wonderkid Erling Haaland was to play at Anfield last season.

The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe, and he was strongly linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United before he made a move to Borussia Dortmund in January.

Judging by the footage, however, the Leeds-born striker would favour a move to Jurgen Klopp's side if the opportunity were to present itself in the future.

A clip posted to Reddit showed Haaland and his team-mates walking out to train at Anfield ahead of their Champions League game there in November 2019.

Haaland can be seen looking around in wonder, before saying: "The best team in the world. Very good fans, stadium, atmosphere, everything."

He adds: "So now it's a dream coming true to be playing here," before he laughs.

Haaland went on to score in the game against Liverpool but couldn't prevent his side falling to an entertaining 4-3 defeat.

Haaland has been a sensation since joining Dortmund, scoring 13 goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances last season, and he has also found the net a further four times in three games so far in the new campaign.

For now he appears happy in Germany, but there is no telling where he could end up in the future, with Europe's elite clubs likely to be monitoring his progress carefully.

Liverpool did manage to sign Haaland's ex-Salzburg teammate Taki Minamino in January, but speaking about why his side did not go for Haaland at the same time Klopp said: "The difference couldn’t be bigger.

"Erling Haaland made a perfect choice with Dortmund, and Taki made a perfect choice.

"He wanted a top team, as soon as possible, with an open space... Borussia Dortmund.

"Nobody else had a chance, I’m pretty sure, no matter what they say."
