Video shows burning 'UFO' hurtling towards West Country from the sky

This footage shows a mysterious burning 'UFO-like' object hurtling towards the West Country.

Rachael Drewe described what she saw as a "flame burning in the sky" and quickly recorded it to show others the video footage of the unusual incident.

The mum-of-two from Budleigh Salterton, in Devon, thought it might be 'space junk' burning up as it sped towards Earth.

And her children speculated the sighting was an asteroid falling through the sky.

She filmed the video on Saturday, October 10, which shows the bright streak of light in front of the clouds in the distance.

Such sightings have not been uncommon over parts of Somerset, especially over the Bristol Channel, with one apparently unidentified 'shiny' object appearing in the sky over a cargo ship off the coast of Dunster.

Sharing the video online, she said: "Anyone tell me what this is? Been burning through the sky, getting massive now."

Rachael said she clocked it from her window at around 6.30pm on Saturday after being alerted to it by her partner Kirsty Bright.

She said: "I thought it could be space junk or part of an explosion but there was no sound.

"Our two boys, Harrison and Jaxon, thought it was really cool and was an asteroid but it is a mystery to us."
