Video reveals new images of £350m Co-op Live venue backed by Harry Styles and Manchester City owner

A new video of how Manchester's £350m Co-op Live venue will look has been revealed for the first time.

Construction is currently underway at the site in the shadow of Manchester City's Etihad stadium and its doors are due to officially open in 2023.

When complete, the 23,500-seater venue will feature a bowl design, "cutting edge" visual technology as well as 32 bars, lounges, restaurants, suites and club spaces.

Co-op Live is intended to host everything from live music to sports events, comedy gigs to award shows and family entertainment.

To coincide with the launch of Co-op Live's new website, which was launched on Monday, a short film has been released showcasing the planned interior spaces.

Manchester creative agency Music developed the video and social edits, which features a poem titled 'The Ultimate Gig' by Mancunian poet and broadcaster ARGH KiD (aka David Scott) read by Radio 1Xtra’s Yasmin Evans, as well as the track 'Charlemagne' by Stockport band Blossoms.

The video features never-seen-before fly-through renders of the arena.

The new video comes after it was announced in May that the site would create an additional 1,000 jobs once fully operational.

The project is being built by Salford-based BAM and developed by OVG.

Co-op Live’s construction site is seeing 400 people working on it daily.

It was also announced last year that global pop star Harry Styles was investing in the venue while the group behind Manchester City official came on board in May, becoming a joint venture partner with Oak View Group.

The site, set to be the UK's biggest entertainment arena, is hoped to "kickstart" a wave of economic activity and job creation across the region.
